Analysis of Nonlinear Vibration of Disc Brake with Torque Ripple
2023, 43(2):
179-184.
Based on the single-degree-freedom model of the disc brake, the influence of torque ripple on the creep groan are analyzed. The vibration modes and the stability of equilibrium points are discussed based on Stribeck friction model. The disc brake without torque ripple may exhibit different kinds of vibrations, such as pure slip, stick-slip, stick-slip with conversion. During the stick-slip conversion, the vibration with small amplitude appears. Period excitation can separate the vibration (without excitation) into two parts. Those two parts are converted when the excitation at its maximum or minimum value. The excitation also influences the separatrix which makes the dynamics more complex. The stick-slip motion can also be introduced by changing the frequency of the excitation. The amplitude of the vibration will be gradually increased with the increase of braking pressure. Under the same braking pressure, the amplitude of the vibration with torque ripple is bigger than without. This work can provide references for revealing the influencing factors of the creep groan of the disc brake.
