Under the condition of rated load and rated speed operation of a generator set, over-vibration phenomena appeared in the planetary gearbox’s bearing and the rear bearing of the generator. Through the vibration spectrum analysis, the assembling mismatch of the three planetary gears in the gearbox was found to be the main reason of the over-vibration phenomena. After dismounting, inspecting and reassembling, the assembling accuracies between the planetary gears and the internal gear rings were improved. The verification test showed that the over-vibration phenomena disappeared.
