Performance simulation and optimization of noise reduction of engine’s intake system are researched in this paper. The models for simulating the intake system performance are established by GT-Power. Due to the problem that the noise in inlet port is higher than the target noise at some individual rotary speeds under the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) of order, the volume of air-filter is increased, and the parameters of Helmholtz resonator and 1/4 wavelength pipe are adjusted. The results of simulation verify that after optimization the total SPL and the SPL of order in the inlet port are lower than the target noise, and the pressure loss is less than 2.5kPa, which means that the engine noise is reduced significantly.
