Based on the principle and equation of vortex induced vibration (VIV), a vibration model of a cylindrical parts in the seismo-acoustic detection system is established, and the non-linear vibration equation is deduced and solved. The abnormal vibration in the signal is studied by comparing the experimental data. It is found that the bottom current induces the vibration of mounting pole outside the sealed cabin, so that the vibrating sensor receives this VIV signal. For this sake, the VIV suppression method, which can improve the design of detection system, is developed.
