The basic idea of the synthetic modal test is to divide the whole structure into several substructures. The modal parameters of the substructures are obtained by means of the modal test for the substructures, and then the parameters are synthesized and the whole structure modal parameters are gained. In automobile NVH analysis, the cost and time-consuming of the modal test for whole white body are usually very high. Using the synthetic modal test method, the cost and time-consuming of the modal test can be reduced, and the precision of the test can still satisfy the engineering requirement.

In the nonlinear dynamic system, analyzing the influence of the system parameters on the stability and the amplitude of vibration under instable condition of the system is an important work. In this paper, aiming at a common model of the nonlinear dynamic system, a method for analyzing the nonlinear behavior and the instability of the system is proposed. An example shows that this method is very effective.
