Noise Simulation and Optimization of Automotive’s Intake System

Intake system of engine is one of the main noise sources of an automobile. In this paper, the acoustic transmission loss of the engine intake system was simulated by CAE, and the defects in its noise silencing were found. With the use of perforated muffler, the intake system was optimized. The defects in the noise silencing were removed and a favorite effect was reached.

An MRFD force model is established for damper force characteristic investigation through theoretical analysis. Force characteristic of MRFD was studied experimentally in self-made testing equipment. The relationships between force and displacement, force and current, force and velocity were tested. The damper force of MRFD for a given velocity is predicted by the theoretical model. The experiment results show that the theoretical model and the experimental data are in agreement, and the damping coefficient can reach 3.5.

Dynamic and acoustic characteristic of a certain mower were tested and analyzed in this paper ,and the corresponding model of mower were made by usingthe finite element and boundary element methods. Vibration isolator to connect motor with mower to reduce radiation noise was adopted . In the optimization design ofvibration isolator,stiffiness and damping were used as variablesand average displacement of mower was used as object function.And the result shows that thenoise is reduced effectively.

The internal and external noises of a fuel cell vehicle (FCV) are collected. Considering that low frequency noise occupies a large amount of energy, the noise signals in the range from 20Hz to 150Hz are extracted through the lowpass filter. Then, based on Zwicker model, the objective evaluation index is calculated. The score of subjective evaluation of the noise sample is given by means of the paired comparison method. Finally, the multiple linear regression model for lowfrequency sound quality analysis is established according to the linear correlation between subjective score and objective index, in order to get more accurate evaluation of sound quality of FCV noise in low frequency range.
