Based on the analysis of vibration isolation mechanism of parallel combination of positive and negative stiffness, a new type of ultralowfrequency vertical vibration isolation system is developed in this paper. In this system, the parallel connection of springs with, respectively, positive stiffness and negative stiffness is applied so that it possesses high supporting stiffness as well as ultralow kinematic stiffness. And the stiffness of the system is also nonlinear. This method has solved the problem of ultralow frequency vibration isolation in the traditional passive vibration isolator system. Through the analysis of mechanical characteristic of this system, expression of the stiffness of the isolator and zero stiffness condition of the system at the equilibrium position are deduced. This method offers a theoretical guidance for the design of new type of nonlinear ultralowfrequency vibration isolators.
