Abstract : Before an aircraft with the advanced engine putting into the market, its airworthiness noise recertification is necessary. Using the static test data of the engine to predict the flight noise level of the aircraft can reduce the cost of the recertification. In this article, the far field noise data of the testing engine was modified according to the flight condition and then used to predict the flight noise level of the aircraft. The feasibility of this method was verified by comparing the results with those in the real flight test.

With the development of civil aviation industry, the influence of noise around airports has been becoming a serious problem. Since there is a lot of works on noise reduction of noise source, this paper will mainly pay attention to the steeper (6 degrees) approach noise reduction procedures. Since the INM software is not suitable for plotting steeper approach contour, each noise value in the Z-axis in three-dimensional coordinates is converted to an equivalent height. Then, the Surfer 8.0 software, the meteorology software with powerful functions, is adopted to plot the steeper approach contour and the three-dimensional surface map of noise level, so as to evaluate the noise influence of steeper approach on Cherry Park area near the Capital Airport. This work may be helpful for environmental noise control around the airports.

With the development of civil aviation industry, the aircraft’s noise around the airports has been becoming a serious problem. In this paper, several domestic and international noise reduction procedures are studied. The attention is paid mainly to the steeper (6 degrees) approach noise reduction procedures. The potential benefits of the steeper approach are evaluated by the reduction of the area covered by the noise of aircraft’s landing. This work is a part of the project supported by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
