Aiming at the vibration signals of abnormal sound from cylinder's head of motorcycle engine, characteristic values of the abnormal sound of each cycle are computed in timedomain using statistical functions. Comparing these characteristic values with the frequency spectrum of the normal engine, the characteristic frequency of the abnormal sound is found. Through the order analysis, the energy distributions of both normal and abnormal vibration signals of engines are studied. And the energy differences of the vibration signals of various orders are analyzed. The results show that these methods can identify abnormal sound of the cylinders head effectively.
