In virtue of the dual mass flywheel (DMF), the torsional vibration and noise of vehicle power train can be controlled effectively. And the vehicle power train can be well protected from impact loading. Taking an indigenous vehicle as an example, a kind of torsional dampers, the two-grade elastic characteristic DMF, is investigated. The influence of DMFs dynamic parameters (mass, stiffness and damping) on the function of the power train are analyzed theoretically. A three-dimensional model is built and the numerical simulation is carried out. The optimal parameters of the DMF are gained.
