The floating raft system with active-adaptive vibration absorbers (AAVAs) was studied. The dynamic models of the system with combined excitation were implemented by assembling the mobility matrices of the subsystems. Then the power flow expressions of this system with/without AAVAs were obtained. Considering the power flow transmitted into the foundation as the cost function, the effects of different control strategies under the single- frequency excitation were studied and compared. Numerical simulation results show that the total power-flow-minimization control strategy is much better than the others. It can achieve effective broad-band vibration absorption and reduce the power flow transmitted into the foundation significantly. The axial-force-minimization control strategy can produce good results at low frequencies, while the axial-velocity-minimization control strategy can produce good results at intermediate frequencies. Finally, adopting the total power-flow-minimization control strategy, the vibration reduction effect of AAVAs under multi-frequency excitation was verified.
