Intake system of engine is one of the main noise sources of an automobile. In this paper, the acoustic transmission loss of the engine intake system was simulated by CAE, and the defects in its noise silencing were found. With the use of perforated muffler, the intake system was optimized. The defects in the noise silencing were removed and a favorite effect was reached.

Study on Absorption Property of Porous Sound-Absorbing Materials
LIU Peng-Hui;YANG Yi-qian;YAO Jing-chuan
   2011, 31 (2): 123-126.   DOI: 10.3969/j.issn.1006-1355-2011.02.029
Abstract3904)            Save
Porous sound-absorbing materials are widely used because of its high sound absorption coefficient and wide absorption frequency range. In this paper, a model of sound absorption materials is adopted, and the design parameters are computed. The influence of porosity, diameter of holes, thickness and structure of the material on its sound-absorbing property is analyzed. This work provides a reference for the development of new sound-absorbing material.
