The conical shell, as a typical structural component of spacecraft, may be excited by very strong noise in its operation, which will induce vibration-acoustic coupling of the structures and acoustic radiation. In this paper, the vibration-acoustic coupling models are built based on the FEM for the tructure and the BEM for the sound field. Numerical simulation of these models is carried out using Acoustic BEM Module in LMS virtual.lab code. The simulation results are verified with those of the noise test in the reverberation chamber. On this base the vibration-acoustic coupling characteristics of the conical shell is analyzed, and the structural responses of the coupled model are compared with those of the uncoupled model of the structure. The results demonstrate that the existence of acoustic fields influences the amplitudes and istributions of the structural responses, and the degrees of vibration-acoustic coupling exhibit different characteristics at different frequencies.
