In recent years, complaints about aircraft noise have been increasing. In this paper, the measures for noise insulation and reduction of residential buildings in the vicinity of airport is reviewed and discussed. Aircraft noise of the Capital Airport and the characteristic of noise around the residential buildings near the airports are monitored. The weighted equivalent continuous perceive noise level and the day-and-night equivalent sound level are applied together to assess the effect of aircraft noise. Some standards and measures for sound insulation of the buildings around airports are also suggested. Taking a residential building near the capital airport as an example for sound insulation and reduction, the noise level outside and inside the building is measured in 13 seconds after airplane taking off, and the sound insulation volume inside the building is also tested. The results show that sound insulation measures for residential buildings can provide a comfortable, quiet, intimate acoustic environment.
