Experimental Study on Intermittent Characteristics of Wind Pressure on Long-span Spherical Shell’s Surface

The wind pressure measurement of a rigid model for long-span spherical shells was conducted in TJ-3 wind tunnel laboratory. In this paper, the continuous and discrete wavelet transform (CWT) are applied to the wind pressure signal to obtain intermittent events and wavelet coefficients of individual time series, respectively. Scale energy ratio, intermittent energy ratio and intermittent factor are studied by comparing them with the wind pressure from different location on the surface of the structure. Conclusions are drawn as follows: (1) At scale 11, the scale energies at circumferential measuring points have little changes with the position variation; but at scale 12, the scale energies at lateral measuring points 1-7 and 1-19 are significantly greater than those in other areas, about twice of those at points 1-1 and 1-13 in the windward and leeward areas, respectively. (2) Intermittent energies at points 1-7 and 1-19 mainly occur at scale 11, but the intermittent energies at point 1-1 and 1-13 are uniformly distributed with different scales. (3) Intermittent factors at points 1-1, 1-7, 1-13 and 1-19 have similar trend with different scales, which change slightly at low scales and increase rapidly at high scales. Therefore, we can see that the intermittent characteristics of wind pressure is different at different locations. These conclusions may be helpful for futher analysis of wind pressure characteristics.

There are 3 ways to reduce refrigerators noise: reducing the sound source, optimizing the sound delivery path, and repressing the response. In this paper, the second way is discussed only. Through the modal analysis of the backplates of some Haier refrigerators, their natural frequencies and vibration modes are found. The optimal design of the backplate structure is presented. The resonance between the backplate and the entire refrigerator can be avoided and the noise can be reduced.

Because of the limitations of a singleexpert system or neural network system in fault diagnosis, a new integrative fault diagnosis expert system which combines neural network technique with expert system is proposed. This system is applied in the mechanical breakdown diagnosis of CNC machine. The structure, characteristics and diagnostic methods of the neural network expert system are introduced. The system is verified based on the knowledge of machine failure and sampling data of faults. The result shows that this system has friendly interface and is easy to handle. It raises the level and efficiency of mechanical fault diagnosis of CNC machines.

The quasioval iced conductor model was tested in TJ2 wind tunnel to obtain aerodynamic force coefficients by using HighFrequencyForce Balance (HFFB) technique. The calculating theory of galloping characteristics of SDOF is derived, which take account of natural vibration characteristics of transmission line. The effects of wind velocity, sagspanratio, span, conductor diameter on galloping critical wind velocity and amplitude are studied and approximate method to calculate galloping characteristic of quasioval iced conductor are presented at last.

Based on Fluent 6, numerical simulation code for solving aeroelastic problems is first presented by using loosely coupled method in this paper. The fluid domain can be solved by adopting serial or parallel computation method, and the structure domain is solved by adopting Newmark method, and finally the interface coupling between the fluid and structure domains is implemented through dynamic mesh technique. The calculation process and the special method to deal with the parallel computation in fluid domain are then introduced. Finally, numerical simulation of vortexexcited vibration of a 2D square cylinder at Reynolds number of 22000 is done. The computed results and the comparison with those in literatures could verify the validity of the present program.
